Maria Quiroga is an experienced Residential Program Manager at Guide Dogs for the Blind, overseeing key teams to enhance client experiences during training. In a previous role as Volunteer Coordinator for the Canine Welfare/Neonatal Department, Maria managed over 140 volunteers, refining roles to improve departmental efficiency. As a photographer, videographer, and project manager since 1998, Maria has directed, shot, and edited various video projects and taught multiple photography courses at PhotoManhattan. Maria holds an MFA in Photography & Related Media from the School of Visual Arts, along with an undergraduate degree encompassing multiple disciplines from New York University and the University of Michigan, and has additional training from Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy.

Established in 1942, GDB is the largest Guide Dog school in North America and continues its dedication to quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates. Our programs are made possible through the teamwork of staff, volunteers and generous donors. GDB receives no government funds. Services are provided to students from the United States and Canada at no cost to them. GDB is headquartered in San Rafael, California, with a second campus in Boring, Oregon. More than 12,500 teams have graduated from our program, and there are approximately 2,200 active teams in the field currently.
