Andrew Dieken is a Front End Software Engineer at Guidebook. Andrew was previously an intern at Starbucks from June 2018 to August 2018, where they were responsible for designing, developing, and testing multiple applications which lead to an enhancement in the retail Partners (Starbucks employee’s) experience.

One of the applications they worked on was a voice enabled iOS application which allowed Partners to record their daily prep in seconds while eliminating multiple steps in the prep process. The application used Nuance Voice and Natural Language Processing Technologies to capture voice and translate it into specific actions such as recording inventory amounts and daily item prep names/quantities.

Andrew also created an inventory assistant application for in-store inventory analysis to compare store inventory quantities with point of sales records. The analysis was used to inform store supply restocking.

Participated in the Starbucks Innovation Expo where they developed a voice enabled application which allowed in-store partners to complete everyday tasks in seconds. Won award for Best Partner Facing Technology.

Andrew Dieken studied computer software engineering at Chapman University, where they also minored in business administration. Andrew completed their high school education at Issaquah High School.
