David Waters

David Waters, M.S., PMP, serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Renewable Energies Industries Association of New Mexico, contributing to the development of energy initiatives. Currently, Waters is the Vice President of Operations at Somos Solar and has held various roles including Senior Director of Operations and Senior Technical Consultant at Guidepoint. With extensive experience in program and project management within the energy sector, Waters has overseen large-scale solar projects at Fosler Solar and has held key operational positions at Amazon, Torc Robotics, and Itron, demonstrating strong leadership and analytical skills. Waters has a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science with a focus on Renewable Energy and Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Prior to the energy industry, Waters served as an Electronics Technician in the US Navy and worked as a Program Manager at Sandia National Laboratories.
