Anitra D. Wells

Anitra D. Wells, Ed. D., serves as the Superintendent of Weldon City Schools, overseeing the effective operation and administration of the district, including instructional and business operations, while advising the Board of Education. Previously, Anitra held the position of Executive Director for the Northern Region of Guilford County Schools, supervising 33 schools, and served as Principal of Northeast Guilford High School, responsible for daily operations, personnel management, and policy implementation. Anitra's educational background includes a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech, as well as a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s in Business Education from Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University, respectively. Anitra's career in education also includes roles as Assistant Principal and Coordinator at Norfolk Public Schools, focusing on staffing and administrative responsibilities.
