Jonathan Permar

Jonathan Permar, MBA, serves as the Senior Director of Social Studies & Civic Engagement at Guilford County Schools since July 2010, where responsibilities include directing a K-12 civic engagement office, overseeing voter education programming for nearly 5,000 students, and managing a budget of up to $1.2 million. Prior roles include Interim Senior Director of Teaching, Learning and Professional Development and Director of Social Studies, where Jonathan led professional learning initiatives and collaborated on key educational projects. With an MBA from North Carolina State University and a BA in History from Elon University, Jonathan brings a comprehensive background in education, curriculum development, and organizational leadership, complemented by international teaching experience in Japan.
