Starting in 1997, Mary worked as a Sales Merchandising Analyst for The Clorox Company's Food Products Division, where they were responsible for sales meeting planning, sales tool development, and sales program implementation.
In 2000, they transitioned to the role of Western Region Sales Manager for The Clorox Company's Home Care division. In this role, they developed and implemented a regional sales plan and led a broker team.
Mary joined Diageo in 2003 and held multiple positions during their tenure. Mary began as a Commercial Planning Manager, overseeing sales strategy and execution across various beverage channels. Mary then became a Brand Manager where they focused on the domestic wine portfolio. Later, they became a Brand Director and was responsible for creating and executing the annual marketing plan, as well as identifying growth drivers and allocating resources accordingly. In their final role at Diageo, Mary served as a Sr. Director of Marketing & Innovation, where they developed and implemented a portfolio strategy for a diverse wine brand portfolio.
In 2015, Mary joined Peet's Coffee, starting as the Director of Planning & Strategy. In this role, they played a key role in developing and executing strategies. Mary later became the Sr. Director of Retail & Foodservice Marketing, where they led product innovation, in-store marketing, customer loyalty, and partnership marketing for all Peet's Retail and Foodservice concepts. Finally, they became the Sr. Director of Channel Development, Retail Concepts, focusing on driving retail growth and optimizing channel development.
Most recently, in 2023, Mary joined the Guittard Chocolate Company as the Marketing Director, where they are responsible for overseeing all marketing efforts.
Mary Dusenbury attended the University of Virginia from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Affairs with a minor in Spanish. In 1993, they also participated in the McIntire Business Institute Summer Program at the same university, focusing on Business Administration and Management.
