Abdallah Altahir is a Senior Legal Advisor at Gulf Drilling International. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Senior Legal & Contracts Officer at Qatar Intermediate Industries Co. Ltd "ALWASEETA" from November 2013 to June 2015. In their previous role, they oversaw contracts and project agreements from the requisition/pre-tender stage to the project hand-over stage, including the review of General Conditions of Contract, Pre-FEED, FEED, EPC, Construction, PMC, PMO, Master Services Agreements, Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning Contracts (FIDIC, EPC & EPIC), Professional Services, IT, Manpower Supply, Hotels Corporate Agreements and other Works Agreements.
Altahir has also provided legal support and administered legal matters pertaining to Company’s operational and business functions, drafted and reviewed agreements. Abdallah has ensured compliance of contracts with the Qatar Petroleum/ Company’s legal policies and processes and rendered advice on improvements in contracting/procurement strategies and implementing internal controls for the department.
In addition, they have prepared, reviewed and updated all Contracts procedures and policies ensuring adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, minimizing risks and meeting all company requirements. Abdallah has also contributed to the development and management of corporate Contracts format for projects, engineering, construction, materials and services.

Abdallah Altahir earned a postgraduate diploma in translation (English & Arabic) from the University of Khartoum. Abdallah then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in law from the same school.

Gulf Drilling International
On May 2004, Gulf Drilling International Limited (GDI) was established as the first onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling company in Qatar. GDI was formed as a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar’s national oil corporation, and Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. (JDC). In July 2007, QP acquired 25% shares of JDC, raising its ownership in GDI to 70%. In February of 2008, all shares of QP were transferred to Gulf International Services, Q.S.C. (GIS) which became a public shareholding company in May 2008 and is listed on the Doha Market.
