Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson began their career as a Software Engineer at Motorola in 2001. Michael then moved on to Arthur J. Gallagher as a Financial Analyst in 2005. In 2006, they transitioned to Ernst & Young, where they worked as a Senior Manager until 2014, focusing on IT security, risk, and compliance. From 2014 to 2019, they joined Chesapeake Energy, holding various roles including Director - Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In 2019, they became the VP & Chief Information Officer at Gulfport Energy Corporation. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in IT security, risk management, compliance, and strategic planning.

Michael Thompson obtained a Bachelor in Business Administration with a focus on Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma in between 1997 to 2001. In 2006, they also acquired the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² and a more recent Unconscious Bias certification from LinkedIn in 2021.
