Valerie Newhouse

Valerie Newhouse has over two decades of experience in marketing and business development within prestigious law firms and service organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Marketing and Business Development Operations at Gunderson Dettmer since April 2012, Valerie oversees a five-member marketing department and manages firm messaging, pitch production, and events for a leading Silicon Valley business law firm. Previous roles include Director of Business Development at The Brenner Group, Practice Development Specialist at Sidley Austin LLP, and Marketing Specialist at Orrick, where Valerie successfully developed and implemented strategic marketing initiatives, managed significant events, and enhanced client relationships. Valerie's career began in public relations, serving as Public Information Manager at the Arthritis Foundation and in various positions at public affairs and PR firms. Valerie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, and Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
