Greg Dooley

Engineering Partner at GV

Greg Dooley is currently an engineering partner at GV, but they have also worked as a software engineer at Google and as a project instructor at MIT Online Science, Technology, and Engineering Outreach. Greg has a PhD in Physics from MIT.

Greg's passion for physics began when they were young. When they were in high school, they took an astrophysics course and fell in love with the subject. Greg went on to study physics at MIT, where they focused on galaxies in the Local Group. Greg studied how they are affected by variations in cosmological parameters, self-interacting dark matter, and galactic variance.

During their time at MIT, Greg also became interested in outreach and education. Greg developed and instructed a 3 week online + 1 week in person astrophysics course for underrepresented high school students within the MOSTEC outreach program. Greg collaborated with the program director to improve the student experience, participation rate, accountability, and scalability of the program.

After graduating from MIT, Greg worked as a software engineer at Google. Greg then left Google to join GV as an engineering partner.

Greg Dooley has a Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an A.B. in Physics, Engineering Physics, and Computer Science from Princeton University.

They work with Danielle Lewis - Administrative Business Partner, Rosana Kapeller - Entrepreneur in Residence, and Jeremy Whelchel - Engineering Partner. Greg Dooley reports to David Krane, CEO & Managing Partner.
