Robert Copeland

Robert A. Copeland, Ph.D., is a biotechnology entrepreneur with extensive experience in drug discovery and development. Currently, they are a Venture Partner at Atlas Venture and an Advisor for Google Ventures, while also serving on various biotech scientific advisory boards. They founded Accent Therapeutics in 2017 and led the organization until 2024 as its President and Chief Scientific Officer. Prior to this, Copeland held prominent roles at Epizyme, GlaxoSmithKline, and Merck Research Laboratories, contributing to the advancement of numerous investigational new drugs. They earned a doctorate in chemistry from Princeton University and have published over 200 works in the scientific literature, holding 14 U.S. patents and authoring six books in protein science and enzymology.
