Erik Brandstädter has a diverse work experience in the electrical engineering industry. Erik started their career at ABB AG in 2008 as an Engineer for Gas Insulated Switchgear. In 2009, they joined ABB Inc. and served as a Product Manager for Substation Automation Products, where they managed three distinct automation products and provided expertise to the sales team. Erik then took on the role of Business Development Manager for Remote Terminal Units, relocating overseas to establish the RTU business in North America and improve market share. In 2014, they became a Product Manager for Remote Terminal Units, where they drove and grew the RTU500 product business in the North American market.

In 2015, Erik Brandstädter joined G&W Electric Co. as a Business Development Manager for Power Grid Automation. In this role, they were responsible for the profitable growth of G&W LaZer Power Grid Automation portfolio across the US and Canada. Erik achieved a 200% increase in sales of automation solutions year-over-year for four years. Their day-to-day operations included collaborating with regional vice presidents, manufacturer representatives, and customers to identify opportunities and specify best-in-class automation solutions. Erik was later promoted to Senior Business Development Manager in 2020 and most recently became the Regional Vice President of Sales in May 2022.

Erik Brandstädter completed their education in the field of Business Administration and Management, General. From 2009 to 2011, they attended the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree. Prior to this, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2004 to 2009 at Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz (FH). In addition to their academic qualifications, Erik also holds a certification as a Certified Professional Electrician, which they obtained from the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in February 2007.
