Waliyat Oyewole has a diverse work experience in various roles. In 2016, they started their career as a Math Tutor at City Colleges of Chicago-Harry S Truman College and continued in that role until 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at Boston University. In 2018, they joined Noyes Chemistry Laboratory at UIUC School of Chemical Sciences as a Student Laboratory Assistant and remained in that position until 2020. In 2019, they joined Xiao Su Group at UIUC Dept. of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they worked until 2020. In the same year, they also served as a Lead Student Tutor at the Shell Tutoring Program of UIUC Dept. of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. Currently, they are employed at G&W Electric Co. as a Quality Control Engineer I and was previously a Process Engineer.

Waliyat Oyewole has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which was obtained from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, Waliyat obtained an Associate's degree in Chemistry from City Colleges of Chicago-Harry S Truman College. In addition, Waliyat has obtained certifications in "PowerPoint: From Outline to Presentation" and "Six Sigma Foundations" from LinkedIn in August 2020 and July 2020 respectively.
