John Young

John Young has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. John started their career at Sterlands, where they served as the Finance Director and Company Secretary. Here, they acted as the 2IC to the Managing Director and led a team of 12. John also prepared monthly, annual accounts, and budgets.

After their tenure at Sterlands, John joined Hudson Timber and Hardware as the General Manager F&T/General Manager Finance & Admin. In this role, they had profit responsibilities for the Frame & Truss business across multiple states and oversaw negotiations with customers, suppliers, and the CFMEU. John also successfully merged and managed the administrations of two businesses.

John then joined Quantum Energy Technologies Pty Ltd as the Company Secretary/Finance Manager. Their responsibilities included leading a team of 3 and ensuring compliance with ASIC & ASX regulations. John also prepared monthly, statutory accounts, budgets, and managed the China JV consolidation.

Following their time at Quantum Energy Technologies, John returned to the GWA Group Limited. John held several roles within the company, including Commercial Manager (Dorf Clark) and Commercial Manager Sales & Marketing (Caroma Dorf). In these positions, they led teams and contributed as a member of the divisional Executive team. Their responsibilities included preparing financial reports, budgets, and managing strategic initiatives.

John Young has pursued various educational programs. John completed the CPA Australia Program, indicating their interest in accounting or related fields. Afterwards, they enrolled in the University of Technology Sydney to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies, specializing in Business. Furthering their education, John attended Chartered Secretaries Australia to earn a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Management, emphasizing their focus on corporate management and governance.
