Nyla Simmons

Nyla Simmons is a dedicated education professional with extensive experience in special education and adult training. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher at Gwinnett County Public Schools since July 2024, Nyla previously worked as a DHMSM Training Specialist II at ALKU, where diverse adult learners were effectively managed through adaptive teaching strategies and virtual delivery methods. Prior to that, Nyla held the position of Healthcare Information Technology Consultant at ProSource360 Consulting Services, providing engaging classroom training and end-user support. A background in healthcare includes a role as a Revenue Cycle Associate at Emory Healthcare, where patient advocacy and financial coverage maximization were prioritized, and as a Certified Medication Aide at Brookdale, assisting in the healthcare needs of residents. Nyla earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis at Capella University.
