Michelle Arnold, PE, AICP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of transportation planning and engineering. Michelle started their career at AECOM in 2004 as a Transportation Planner & Civil Engineer and worked there until 2018. In this role, they gained experience in travel demand modeling, traffic engineering, growth management, and information technology application development.
After leaving AECOM, they joined HNTB in 2018 as a Transportation Engineer. Here, they focused on the field of connected and automated vehicles, a relatively new field in intelligent transportation systems. Michelle'swork at HNTB allowed their to blend their transportation planning and engineering background with learning new technologies.
Currently, Michelle is working at Gwinnett County Government as an Engineer V and Division Director of Pre-Construction - Program Delivery. Michelle started this role in 2022 and continues to contribute to the organization's construction projects and program delivery.

Michelle Arnold, PE, AICP pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Florida State University, graduating in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from Calvin University in 2002. In 2004, they completed their Master's Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Florida State University. Michelle has also obtained several certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in 2018, and AICP Certified from the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2007. Michelle has additional certifications in various fields, including LEAD Academy and Plan Development Process, which were obtained in subsequent years.
