Alan Ashurst has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Alan currently works at GWL Realty Advisors as an Environmental Project Coordinator - Corporate Environmental OH&S. Prior to this, they worked at Oriole Food Space as a Member of the Resident Food Council (Volunteer). Alan also volunteered at Project Management Institute as a Knowledge Management and Content Lead: Communications Team. Alan has prior experience as an Environmental Field Technician at Cole Engineering Group and as a Junior Manager at LE CHÂTEAU. Alan has also worked as a Project Management Intern at Forests Ontario, Assistant Scientist at National Laboratory Service (Environment Agency), and Kitchen Manager at Princess River Cruises Ltd, handling all aspects of kitchen duties including food prep, cooking, training staff, and completing paperwork. Alan has also served as a Hostel Manager at Global Village Backpackers. Their early career includes working as a Senior Analyst at WSP Environmental Ltd, where they identified and managed environmental risks, conducted soil and water sampling and analysis, and performed wet chemistry techniques. Alan also trained staff members and participated in method development and validation.
Alan Ashurst completed a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from Nottingham Trent University from 2001 to 2004. Alan also obtained a Project Management Environmental Certificate from Seneca College from 2017 to 2018.
