Shane Merrell

Shane Merrell is an experienced Program Officer at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, with additional expertise as a business owner of Merrell Massage since April 2014, specializing in sports, remedial, and corporate massage therapy. Shane has served as a sports trainer and massage therapist for the GWS Giants since November 2020, handling both AFL and VFL team operations, and previously provided similar services to the Sydney-based AFL umpires from February 2015 to July 2021. Shane's background includes ownership of Corporate Massage Specialists, management of massage therapy at Tensegrity Sports and Chiropractic Clinics, and positions at Jane Harris Massage Therapy and Sydney Elite Massage. Prior to the massage therapy career, Shane worked as an assistant manager at the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection, overseeing compliance activities and case management. Shane holds a Diploma of Remedial Massage and Sports Massage from the NSW School of Massage.
