Ashley Darcy Mahoney, PhD, NNP, is a distinguished academic and clinical leader in neonatal nursing. Currently a Senior Fellow at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation since March 2022, Mahoney also serves as a Professor and Senior Associate Dean at The George Washington University, a position held since July 2016. With extensive clinical experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at MEDNAX since February 2010, Mahoney previously contributed as a Distinguished Nurse Scholar in Residence at the National Academy of Medicine from September 2020 to September 2021. Earlier roles include Assistant Professor at Emory University and Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (RN) at Penn Medicine. Mahoney holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University. Mahoney graduated as valedictorian from American Heritage Schools - Broward Campus.
