David Rain

David Rain is an Associate Professor of Geography and International Affairs at George Washington University, where teaching focuses on urban and population geography with an emphasis on courses related to developing world cities and African geography. Rain possesses extensive field experience across Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Previous roles include serving as a committee member for the Geographical Sciences Committee of the National Academies, consulting for the United Nations on geospatial infrastructure for census activities, and providing consultation to the World Bank regarding Lebanon's social statistics.
