Ellen M. Granberg

Ellen Granberg currently serves as the President of The George Washington University, a position held since July 2023. Previously, Ellen Granberg was the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology from August 2018 to July 2023. Earlier in their career at Clemson University, Ellen Granberg held several roles including Senior Associate Provost and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, where responsibilities included faculty compensation, recruitment, performance improvement, and the development of family-friendly workplace policies. As Department Chair of Sociology and Anthropology at Clemson University, Ellen Granberg oversaw all departmental administration. Additionally, Ellen Granberg was a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Georgia and worked as a Project Manager and Technical Director at Pacific Bell. Ellen Granberg earned a PhD in Sociology from Vanderbilt University and a BA in History from the University of California, Davis.
