Jie Chen

Jie Chen is a distinguished academic in the field of Political Science, currently serving as a Visiting Scholar at The George Washington University since September 2021 and as a Professor and Dean at James Madison University since June 2015. Previously, Jie Chen held several significant positions, including Dean and William Borah Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Idaho and Vice President of the Council of Chinese American Deans and Presidents from 2014 to 2015. Additional experience includes serving as Louis I. Jaffe Professor of Political Science at Old Dominion University and a Residential Research Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Jie Chen’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington State University, earned between 1987 and 1991.
