Marco Pinon

Adjunct Professor

Marco Pinon is an accomplished International Macro-Financial Economist with over two decades of experience in policy design and implementation within private and international institutions. Currently serving as an Independent Consultant and Instructor since October 2018, Marco specializes in macroeconomic policies, macroprudential policies, and financial sector risk assessments. As an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University, Marco teaches courses on financial markets and their impact on economic growth and crises. Marco's prior roles at the International Monetary Fund included serving as an External Consultant for the Independent Evaluation Office and holding various advisory positions within the Monetary and Capital Markets Department and Western Hemisphere Department, focusing on macroeconomic and financial assessments in Latin America. Academic qualifications include a Doctoral (AbD) in International Economics and Econometrics from The George Washington University, a Master's in Energy and Natural Resources Economics from the University of Calgary, and a Licenciatura in Economics from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
