Karryn Wheelans

Karryn Wheelans is a seasoned media and communications professional with extensive experience across various high-profile organizations. Currently serving as a Board Member for Gymnastics Australia since May 2023, Wheelans also holds the position of Group Head of Media at The Star Entertainment Group, along with previously serving as Media Manager for Queensland. With a background as Executive Producer at Nine Entertainment and Communications and Marketing Manager at Nightlife Music, Wheelans has also worked as an Account Executive at Sequel PR and has notable roles as Producer/Reporter at Nine Entertainment Co., covering significant documentaries. Additionally, Wheelans contributed to Netball Queensland as Marketing and Communications Manager and held the role of Media Manager for the Brisbane Fashion Festival. With a foundation in journalism from Nine Entertainment Co. and television production experience from Seven Network Australia, Wheelans possesses a degree in Physical Education from Griffith University and completed education at The University of Queensland and Brisbane State High School.
