Giannis Hatzilazarou

Giannis Hatzilazarou began his career in 1965, when he immigrated to Congo, at the age of 17 years old. He made his first steps in industry and commerce there, along with his siblings, but promised himself he would go back to his homeland, Rhodes Island, some day. He never stopped visiting Rhodes and in one of his travels on the island he met his future wife. The couple soon got married and returned to Africa.

Aiming to expand to new markets and already feeling nostalgic for life in Greece, Giannis Hatzilazarou founded his first hotel in Kiotari, Rhodes, in 1993. Over the course of 27 years in the hospitality industry, he crafted the H Hotels Collection group, a family business at its core that reinvented the concept of Greek hospitality through high-quality services and focus on travellers’ needs.

With unconditional love for Rhodes and with his wife and offspring being his fellow-travellers on this journey, Giannis Hatzilazarou established the sixth luxury resort of the Group in 2018, offering visitors the chance to live an unprecedented hospitality experience in Rhodes, unlike any other, with the unique signature of the Hatzilazarou Group.
