Alexander Thorn

Alex is a private equity Principal in H.I.G. Capital's London office. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, transaction structuring, financing, and implementation of post-closing growth, operational and add-on acquisition strategies.

With nearly a decade of private equity experience, Alex has made investments across a wide range of industries including business services, healthcare and consumer/retail in both the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to joining the London team in 2019, Alex was a member of H.I.G.’s U.S. private equity team. Before H.I.G., he worked in mid-market private equity at Harvest Partners in New York and had begun his career in M&A at Wells Fargo Securities.

Alex earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School and his undergraduate degree cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Operations Research & Financial Engineering.
