Richard Holcroft

Richard Holcroft serves as the Head of Process Optimization & Automation at H2 Green Steel since June 2023. Previously, Richard held the position of Chief Operating Officer at British Steel from March 2020 to January 2023, overseeing the international supply and manufacture of high-quality steel products across multiple sites, leading a workforce of 4,000, and driving operational excellence through strategic management and team leadership. Richard's extensive experience includes project management and business transformation roles at ArcelorMittal South Africa, where Richard implemented major change initiatives and led operations for a 1,050 FTE employee site. Richard's career began at Arcelor Mittal, culminating in various engineering and management roles. Richard holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Business School and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of South Africa, along with a National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Control.
