Matt Hirschland is the co-founder and principal of H2A Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in corporate responsibility, environmental sustainability, and responsible branding strategies. Prior to H2A, Matt served as the director of communications for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) from 2011 to 2013. In this role, they were responsible for media relations, internal communications, and organizational storytelling for the nonprofit consortium of 100+ member colleges and universities focused on atmospheric and Earth science research.
Before joining UCAR, Matt was an assistant director at McKinsey & Co., a global management consulting firm, from 2006 to 2011. In this role, they advised clients on a wide range of strategic issues related to supply chain management, environmental sustainability, and corporate governance.
Prior to McKinsey, Matt served as the director of research and communications for Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), the leading U.S. consultancy in the area of corporate responsibility, from 2003 to 2006. In this role, they were responsible for leading the research agenda for the organization and its Fortune 500 clients, advising on a wide range of related strategic issues and stakeholder engagement.
Matt began their career as a manager at Corvirtus, an organizational development consultancy, from 1995 to 1998. In this role, they advised clients on employee experience metrics, selection systems, and customer experience metrics.
Matt Hirschland received a BA in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara. Matt then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder in Political Science and International Relations.
