Matthew Kerwin

Lead Process Engineer at H2nanO

Matthew Kerwin has over ten years of experience in the engineering field. In 2021, they began working as a Lead Process Engineer at H2nanO, where they are responsible for leading process engineering development of the company's water and emissions treatment systems. Matthew also manages the engineering staff through day-to-day project direction and long-term strategic planning. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at DuBois Chemicals, Inc. as an Account Manager, where they managed water and energy systems for industrial and institutional clients throughout southern Ontario. Matthew also conducted sample testing, data collection, and technical support, and presented reports and results to owners, managers, operators, and other stakeholders. From 2013 to 2017, they worked at Penn West as a Production Engineer and Field Production Engineer, EIT. In 2012, they worked at Penn West Exploration as a Production Student Engineer. In 2011, they worked at AMEC as a Student Engineer in the Environmental Process Engineering Group, where they designed, built, and operated a pilot scale plant at a rendering facility, conducted lab testing for pulp and paper industry effluent, and participated in drawing reviews and project budget and scope development. Matthew also had eight weeks of on-site field experience at a mine development site in Baffin Island, Nunavut.

Matthew Kerwin obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo between 2008 and 2013. In 2017, they earned their Professional Engineer certification from Professional Engineers Ontario in May. In 2020, they obtained their Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers in March.
