Zac Young

Zac Young has held several positions in the past eight years. In 2012, they were a Junior Fellow at Engineers Without Borders Canada and a Nanotechnology Standards Intern at CSA Group. In 2013, they were a Biosensor Research Assistant at Nicoya Lifesciences. In 2014, they were a Research and Development Assistant at Alchemy/Neverfrost. Most recently, they have been the Chief Operating Officer at H2nanO since 2016. H2nanO creates treatment solutions for hard-to-treat water contaminants and fugitive emissions. Their SolarPass platform enables passive, sustainable oxidative remediation of process and wastewater to improve water quality, reduce toxicity and odour, and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions.

Zac Young completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Zac then participated in an exchange program at Delft University of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. Finally, they returned to the University of Waterloo to earn a Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering - Nanotechnology.
