Since co-founding Haap Consulting in December 2016, Marleen has contributed to various initiatives aimed at social development. Previous roles include serving as a Trainer, Consultant, and Facilitator at SpeakSmart from 2009 to December 2021, and as Project Manager at the Good Deed Foundation, overseeing an incubator for social start-ups. Marleen has also held positions such as Programme Manager at the Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organisations, Member of the Management Board at the Health Estonia Foundation, NGO Fund Coordinator at the Open Estonia Foundation, and Social Policy Officer at Eesti Üliõpilaskondade Liit. Marleen holds a Master's degree in Educational Management from Tallinn University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Tartu.
