The Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake is a federally recognized Indian Nation consisting of 243 tribal members located in Upper Lake, California. It is governed by an Executive Council comprised of seven elected tribal members charged with protecting its unique culture, members’ well-being and sovereign enterprises that enable it to take action for self-determination. Revenues from outside ventures empower it to offer an ever-growing number of critical economic development programs. These programs are imperative to the tribe’s self-sufficiency, prosperity and preserving its traditional Pomo culture.
