Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort, growing to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 70 countries. In the Asia-Pacific region since 1983, Habitat has supported millions of people to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat for Humanity Indonesia is a part from the Habitat for Humanity International that upholds the vision to create a world where everyone has a place to live. Habitat for Humanity Indonesia is a Christian non-profit organization with a vision that everyone in Indonesia has a decent place to live. Headquartered in Jakarta, Habitat Indonesia began operating in Indonesia in 1997 and by these achievements, for 25 years Habitat for Humanity Indonesia take part in contributing to community development and construction development in Indonesia by serving more than 182,500 families. Aside from housing, Habitat Indonesia also participates in providing clean water and better sanitation system, as well as renovating and building schools. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
