Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates decent houses with the help of partner families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners'​ monthly mortgage payments are used to build more Habitat houses.

The Leadership Team at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County is responsible for strategic planning, organizational oversight, and ensuring the successful execution of the nonprofit's mission. Comprised of the COO, CEO, and Vice Presidents across various departments, the team collaboratively drives fundraising initiatives, community outreach, financial management, communication strategies, and development projects to build and rehabilitate affordable housing for partner families.
