David Hughes

David Hughes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international development and programme management. Currently serving as the Senior Director for Program Quality & Grant Implementation at Habitat for Humanity International since October 2021 and as a member of the Board of Trustees for THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT TRUST since September 2023, David previously held prominent roles including Head of International Programmes at Plan International UK, where fundraising efforts expanded a portfolio from $20M to $35M annually. Career highlights include leadership positions in various organizations, overseeing significant programmes and budgets across multiple countries in Africa, notably increasing funding and managing complex humanitarian projects. David holds an MSc in International Development from the University of Bath and a BA in History from The University of Sheffield.
