Habitat for Humanity
Gyorgy Sumeghy serves as the Associate Director of Policy and Advocacy at Habitat for Humanity International since January 2013, leading EU-level advocacy efforts and representing the organization at various EU and UN events. Previously, Gyorgy held the position of Advocacy Manager, establishing the advocacy function for the EMEA region, managing research projects, and engaging in coalition-building initiatives. Key achievements include leading HFHI’s participation in EU policy consultations and developing multiple policy positions. Gyorgy also served as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Hungary from June 2005 to December 2012, where responsibilities included strategic development, funding acquisition, and advocacy initiatives. Earlier experience includes directing the Center for Foreign Languages and a vocational school at Budapest College of Communication. Gyorgy holds two Master's degrees in English and Hungarian Language and Literature from Eötvös Loránd University.
