Ben Sevier

SVP & Publisher, Grand Central Publishing at Hachette Book Group

Ben Sevier is Senior Vice President and Publisher of Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, joined the company in 2017. He oversees the acquisition and publication of the approximately 400 titles per year on Grand Central Publishing’s hardcover, trade paperback, ebook and mass market lists. Ben is responsible for all aspects of publishing activities for its imprints, including Twelve, Grand Central Life & Style, Forever, and Forever Yours.

Ben has spent seventeen years in the publishing industry, the last decade at Dutton. Most recently, he was Dutton’s Vice President and Publisher and led their staff of editors, marketers, and publicists, overseeing all aspects of Dutton’s publishing program. Writers Sevier has worked with include the New York Times-bestselling novelists Harlan Coben, Lisa Gardner, Jonathan Tropper, Tami Hoag, Joseph Finder, and Linda Fairstein, and he published the first books by bestselling novelists Louise Penny, Charles Finch, Selden Edwards, Brad Taylor, Daniel Suarez, and Jussi Adler-Olsen. He has also acquired and edited a broad range of nonfiction including the two-million-copy seller No Easy Day by Navy SEAL Mark Owen, Red Platoon by Medal of Honor recipient Clinton Romesha, and directed the acquisition and publication of bestsellers by Nick Offerman, Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields, neuroscientist Daniel Levitin, theoretical physicist Sean Carroll, Maria Goodavage, and Janice Kaplan. Prior to Dutton, Sevier had editorial roles at Simon & Schuster, St. Martin’s Press, and HarperCollins Children’s Books.

A native Californian, Ben lives in New York City with his wife and children.
