Hadassah
Avi Rivkind serves as a Professor of General Surgery and heads both the Shock Trauma unit and the Department of General Surgery at Hadassah since January 1986. Additionally, Avi Rivkind has been the Medical Director at United Hatzalah of Israel since January 2008. Previously, Avi Rivkind held the position of Visiting Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California from January 1997 to October 1998 and worked as a Clinical Fellow at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems from January 1986 to August 1988. Avi Rivkind obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Hadassah Medical School at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem between 1977 and 1980.

Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, is a volunteer organization that inspires a passion for and commitment to its partnership with the land and people of Israel. It enhances the health of people worldwide through its support of medical care and research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem. Hadassah empowers its members and supporters, as well as youth in Israel and America through opportunities for personal growth, education, advocacy and Jewish continuity.
