Surajit Chanda

Surajit Chanda is an accomplished maritime professional with extensive experience in technical management and fleet operations. Currently serving as Vice President, Technical for Hafnia since February 2019, Surajit oversees the day-to-day technical operations of the in-house fleet and optimizes synergies between outsourced and internal fleets. Previous roles include General Manager and Head of Fleet B at Hafnia, as well as similar positions at BW Tankers Pte Ltd and BW Pacific, where Surajit was responsible for managing LR1 product tankers. With a solid foundation in marine engineering, having earned a Certificate of Competency as a Chief Engineer from the Ministry of Transport, India, and a Diploma in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from Calcutta Technical School, Surajit's expertise spans multiple fleet management capacities, enhancing operational efficiency and safety across diverse vessel types.
