Basant Patra has extensive experience in quality assurance within the petrochemical industry, serving at Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd since October 1999 in various managerial roles, including Chief Manager, Senior Manager, Manager, and Deputy Manager. Responsibilities have encompassed quality management of finished petrochemical products such as LLDPE, HDPE, and PP, development of processes in the SAPHANA-QM Module, and technical support for polymer plants. Patra has also been involved in root cause analysis, problem-solving, product development support, and customer engagement for trial and complaint handling. Prior experience includes a role as In-Charge Quality at M/s Mahabir Plastic Industries, overseeing quality across various product stages and interacting with government bodies for compliance. Educational qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Entrepreneurship from Jadavpur University, an MBA in Marketing from North Orissa University, and degrees in Polymer Science and Engineering from the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology.
