Laust Riemann is a seasoned professional in the energy sector with extensive experience, currently serving as Chief Advisor at the Danish Energy Agency since April 2015, focusing on PtX, energy islands, renewable energy integration, and economic power system modeling. Previous positions include Special Advisor in both the Department for System Analysis and the Department for Global Cooperation, where Laust established partnerships to enhance thermal power plant flexibility and market design. Prior to joining Energistyrelsen, Laust worked at DONG Energy as Manager of the Thermal Power Valuation team, and as Lead Financial Analyst on various significant projects. Additional experience includes a role as Senior Analyst at the Bank of Scotland focusing on real estate financing and earlier positions at Ejendomsinvest, handling property networks and investment analyses. Laust holds a Master's degree in Applied Economics & Finance from Copenhagen Business School, an MBA in Economics from The University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of Waikato.
