Ellen Wright

Chief Program Officer & Clinical Supervisor at HALE KIPA INC

Ellen has served as the Hale Kipa Chief Program Officer/Clinical Supervisor since June 2020. Previously, she served as the Coordinator of Intensive In-Home and Therapeutic Foster Care Services at Hale Kipa from 2017-2018. Her professional experience also includes work as a Practice Development Specialist for Project Kealahou (now Kealahou Services) under CAMHD, serving youth in the community and the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility. She focused on a gender responsive and cultural approach to working with trauma utilizing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Prior to returning to Hale Kipa, Wright was Program Director for a non-profit social services agency and lead a program that offered support to CAMHD families and caregivers. Ellen has a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University in Honolulu. Her experience in the social services field includes positions as a community-based counselor with the National Counseling Group in Virginia and as an Adjunct Professor of Social Science and Teacher Education at Howard Community College in Maryland.
