Heather Hanlon is an experienced Recreation Programmer with a robust background in program development and delivery within educational and community settings. Currently employed by the Halifax Regional School Board since August 2018, Heather oversees the EXCEL programs, focusing on engaging programming for students and staff training. Previous roles include Shared Strategy Coordinator at Recreation Nova Scotia, where Heather advanced recreation initiatives, and Program Coordinator for Parks, Recreation & Culture at the Town of Bridgewater, planning and evaluating community recreation opportunities. Heather's early career includes management roles at Sackville Heights Community Centre and Treetop Trekking, as well as positions in market research and aquatic coordination for the Canadian Forces. Heather holds an MSc. in Ecotourism from Edinburgh Napier University and a BRLS in Recreation and Leisure from Brock University.
