Andinet Ejigu

Founder

Andinet Ejigu is the founder and CSO of HalioGEN Power, where their work focuses on membrane-less redox flow batteries and interfacial electrochemistry to advance energy storage technologies. They earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham (2010–2013) and served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate there (2013–2015), where they optimized redox flow battery electrolytes and studied electrocatalytic reactions in protic ionic liquids. They were a Research Fellow at The University of Manchester from 2015 to 2024, acting as a co-investigator for SPRIND Challenge long-term energy storage and researching aluminium-ion batteries, zinc-ion batteries, and the use of 2D materials for energy storage devices. In 2009, they studied the feasibility of biodiesel production and development from non-edible oil at the Horn of Africa Regional Environment Center.
