Karl Wahl has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. Karl started their career as a Project Engineering Intern at URS Corporation, working on oil and gas projects and assisting with stress analysis reports and vendor evaluations. Karl then interned as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at VanDyne SuperTurbo, Inc., where they conducted performance testing on the SuperTurbo device to increase vehicle efficiency. Karl also gained experience as a Test Engineer Intern at OtterBox, contributing to the testing of their products.
Karl then joined Fluor Corporation as an Associate Design Engineer II, where they worked on projects such as LyondellBasell Industries and Chevron Phillips Chemical, focusing on large bore piping systems and performing field walk-downs for stress-critical piping systems.
After that, Karl worked at Siemens Energy as a Field Engineer, with notable projects including the NRG WA Parish Steam Turbine Wreck Return to Service and the Kallpa Las Flores Various Gas Turbine Upgrades. This role involved responsibilities such as demolition, procurement, and installation of impacted systems.
Currently, Karl is employed as a Mechanical Engineer III at Halker, where they utilize their expertise in mechanical engineering.
Karl Wahl completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, where they attended from 2012 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Karl also obtained certifications including a Field Service Master Rigger certification from Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau in February 2021, and a 30-hour Construction Safety and Health certification from OSHA Safety Training Institute in August 2020.
