Tara Charnes

Tara Charnes has a long and varied work experience. Tara began as a Law Extern in 2000 for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Tara then became a Summer Associate in 2001 for Jenner & Block and a Summer Associate in 2002 for Sidley Austin LLP. Tara was then a Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2002. Tara returned to Sidley Austin LLP in 2003 as an Associate in the Securities, Competition and Complex Litigation Group. In 2008, they moved to The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and held various roles such as Director of North America Legal, Securities and Corporate Governance, Director of Securities, Corporate Governance and Commercial Law, Director of Securities, Corporate Governance and Compliance, and Manager of North America Legal and Litigation. In 2015, they joined Big Lots Stores as Vice President of Litigation and Director of Litigation. Finally, in 2020, they became the General Counsel for the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company.

Tara Charnes holds a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Religion from Denison University.
