Charles Theuer

Charles Theuer is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as Chief Medical Officer at Halozyme, Inc. since October 2024, Charles previously held the position of CEO at TRACON Pharmaceuticals from July 2006 to October 2024, leading a clinical-stage oncology therapeutics company. Earlier roles include President at TargeGen, Inc. (2004-2006), CMO at Pfizer (2003-2004), and Director of Clinical Development at both IDEC Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer (2002-2003). Academically, Charles completed a fellowship in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the National Cancer Institute and holds an MD from the University of California, San Francisco, a PhD in Epidemiology from UC Irvine, and a BS in Biologic Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
