Suraime Jap Ngie

Suraime Jap Ngie currently serves as a policy advisor and privacy lawyer at Halt, where responsibilities include enhancing privacy policies, conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and representing the organization in privacy-related discussions. Since January 2021, Suraime has been the chair of Stichting Juradi, overseeing board activities and leading meetings, while also providing free legal advice to prisoners and former prisoners. Prior experience includes roles as a paralegal at Advocatenkantoor El Hannouche, a general civil law lawyer at USG Legal NL, and a junior lawyer at B&D Juristen B.V., specializing in various areas of law including privacy and civil rights. Suraime holds a Master of Laws in Public Law and Criminal Law from the University of Amsterdam and has a strong educational foundation in legal studies from multiple institutions.
