Gary Carr

Halton Regional Chair

Gary Carr serves as the Halton Regional Chair, collaborating with elected members of Regional Council to enhance community quality of life. They began their career as a professional hockey player, winning a Memorial Cup with the Toronto Marlies and later playing for the Boston Bruins, Quebec Nordiques, and other teams. Transitioning to public service, they have held positions as a Member of Provincial Parliament and Speaker of the Ontario Legislature, as well as a Federal Member of Parliament. Throughout their career, Gary has been dedicated to advocating for Halton residents, focusing on community safety, economic growth, and environmental preservation. Currently, they pursue education at Athabasca University.
