Abdulla Shahdad is an experienced professional in the sports and education sectors, currently serving as Managing Director at Hamdan Sports Complex since November 2018 and as a Board Member for the United Arab Emirates Sports For All Committee since September 2020. Previously, Abdulla held various managerial positions at Dubai Sports Council from October 2009 to September 2020, including overseeing sports clubs, school sports, and the SG's office. Abdulla was a Board Member of the UAE Swimming Federation from June 2008 to November 2016 and worked as a Senior Associate Manager at Mawarid Finance from September 2007 to September 2009. Early career experience includes a teaching role at the Ministry of Education in Dubai from August 2002 to August 2007. Abdulla holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from United Arab Emirates University, completed in 2001, and attended Bader Secondary School and Mohammed Noor School for earlier education.

The largest Aquatic Sports Center in the Middle East – Hamdan Sports Complex is the largest indoor sporting facility in the Middle East with a seating capacity of 15,000. The sports complex boasts of two 50-meter pools, both with movable floors. Located on the south side of Dubai, it is a short 30-minute drive from the Dubai International Airport and the city.
